Yes, the Boot Camp is a 6-week guided course with deadlines to meet and includes additional live sessions 3x per week (you can access a recording if you can’t attend a specific live session). We estimate that you need to allocate about 3-5 hours per day Monday-Friday to complete the Boot Camp. If you fall behind, you have the weekends to catch up.

We are looking for aspiring professionals who would like to start or change a career to finance. There is no requirement to apply except having a passion for finance. Important note: Only women who are members or candidates of participating CFA societies are eligible to receive the Women in Valuation scholarship.

Certainly! The course material starts at zero, so even someone without a financial background could understand it. But it moves quickly through the content, so you need to have a strong passion for learning finance and valuation.

Absolutely. We have had many engineers and accountants who wanted to shift to a career in finance. The foundation you will build should be enough to get prospective employers to talk to you about shifting your career to finance.

You will be required to manage a model portfolio from the day you start until graduation day. This will raise your understanding of what it takes to manage risk and return. In addition, you will gain a better understanding of what drives markets and the factors that drive the valuation of a business.

In the Boot Camp, you will complete Valuation Master Class Foundation: Finance Made Ridiculously Simple, and Valuation Master Class Boot Camp course (Module 1and Module 2). You will also do additional assignments that are relevant to an equity analyst, fund manager, and investment banker. During the Boot Camp, you will write a research report on a company of your choice, learn how to present with confidence, and make a final presentation of your report.

In Foundation, you study by yourself, watching videos and completing assignments at your convenience. The Boot Camp includes additional assignments to prepare you for a job in finance, and you are mentored by Dr. Stotz and his team throughout the 6-week course. You will also write and present a full company research report. Dr. Stotz will help you find your career path and teach you crucial presentation skills.

All course content is based on Dr. Andrew Stotz's 30 years of teaching and experience working in valuation. You will be valuing companies using the practical tools that helped him become a #1 ranked analyst.

On average, students spend about 170 hours (28 hours per week) to complete the Boot Camp. Top students invest around 220 hours (37 hours per week), while those with limited time finish in about 100 hours (17 hours per week).

The CFA Level I exam is vast, covering many topics ranging from pension fund accounting to political economy. Equity valuation is one topic among many in the CFA Level I exam, which means you will gain shallow knowledge of many topics. The Valuation Master Class Boot Camp goes deep into one topic: Equity valuation. So, attending the Boot Camp will help deepen your understanding in this one area.

This course will help in two ways. First, great managers understand finance. You will gain a deep understanding of finance and valuation. Second, you will understand how analysts and fund managers think about a company they are considering investing in. The result is that you will become a better-equipped manager to engage with the various stock market participants.

It’s not a requirement. But, if you want more practical experience in forecasting and valuation, you can continue with Valuation Master Class Professional, which includes Modules 3-5. By completing professional, you’ll gain expertise in valuing different companies, which could take years to gain at the job.
